2025 ANZCA Annual Scientific Meeting

On behalf of the regional organising committee, I would like to extend a very warm North Queensland invitation to Gimuy, Country of the Yirrganydji people for the 2025 ANZCA ASM.
Up in Cairns, Far North Queensland you’ll meet between two world heritage areas where the ancient Daintree Rainforest meets the awe-inspiring Great Barrier Reef and understand the importance of ensuring that we are future proofed.
We are looking forward to showcasing the amazing works and developments in our profession against the stunning backdrop of the surrounds that the committee and I are all lucky enough to call our home. The scientific convenors are developing a program that will inform us, challenge us and promote discussion with an inspiring group of both local, national and international speakers while the workshop convenors are putting together extensive opportunities to support your skills and your CPD requirements.
I’m confident our evidence based scientific meeting is going to provide the proof we need to provide for the future of our profession, while our discussions on all areas of sustainability will help to future proof both our environment and our own personal wellbeing.
We have some amazing social events planned at some incredible venues, showcasing the many delights of the tropics and I can guarantee some warmth for those of you from down south as the southern winter bites!

2025 ANZCA ASM Equity Grants
Applications for the 2025 Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) equity grant are now open!
We’re developed the ANZCA ASM Equity Grants recognising the importance of fellows being able to access extensive and diverse continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
Up to four grants of $A2500 will be available for ANZCA and FPM fellows who meet the selection criteria and who previously haven’t been able to attend an ASM due to travel, financial or care giving issues.

Registration
Registration for the 2025 ASM is now open. Information for delegates wishing to register to attend in-person is available on the ASM website.
For delegates unable to make it to Cairns, an ASM onDemand package is available for you to view recorded content from the scientific program - plenary and concurrent sessions. The onDemand package will be available to watch in your own time from 13 May 2025. For more information and to register for the ASM onDemand packagem please visit the ASM registration webpage.

Call for abstracts
The 2025 ASM call for abstracts is now open.
We invite prospective authors to submit their abstracts for the 2025 ASM in the categories of anaesthesia and pain medicine. To help get you started with preparing your abstract, we have collated some abstract preparation resources available online.
Abstract submissions will close at 10.59pm AEST/11.59pm AEDT, Sunday 19 January 2025. For full ASM abstract submission guidelines, including ANZCA ASM prize information and eligibility, please visit the ASM website.
