Rockhampton Hospital is the main referral hospital for Central Queensland with 305 beds, four operating theatres supported by an eight bed ICU and two procedure rooms. Other primary hospitals and smaller rural units within Central Queensland transfer patients through to Rockhampton Hospital for specialist care.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified medical practitioners for the above positions in the Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD). This position will be located in the Department of Anaesthetics at Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals.

Blacktown and Mount Druitt hospitals are located in the Western Sydney local health district. Blacktown hospital has around 600 beds, has a Level 6 ICU unit, a busy emergency department and provides a large number of medical specialist services to the local community and beyond. Mount Druitt hospital functions as an elective surgical unit with available beds for overnight stay where required

Mater Health is seeking a Clinical Director of Anaesthesia to join Mater Hospital Brisbane. Reporting to the Director of Critical Care Services, this role will focus on effective leadership, strategic development, and management for the Department of Anaesthetics.

The Clinical Director has responsibilities encompassing all domains of the quadruple aim – outcomes, stewardship, consumer experience and Mater People. This role is both a clinical leader to the team, but also collaborates with other Mater leaders, and is Mater’s reference point for matters of policy, practice, outcomes, and risk in the clinical speciality across all Mater Hospitals.

Permanent, fixed term temporary full time or part time opportunity provide competent quality clinical care to patients under his/her care, and to actively participate in education administration and research endeavours. The Senior Medical Officer (Anaesthetics) is responsible for providing high quality Anaesthetics management across the required services at TPCH and MNHHS.

Joondalup Health Campuses (JHC) anaesthetic team cares for more than 20,000 public patients in theatres, endoscopy suites, the catheterisation laboratory and birth suites. The service operates 24/7 to support emergency surgery patients and women in labour and delivery.

The Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), is an academic department based at the Prince of Wales Hospital (PWH), a 1,637-bed tertiary referral teaching hospital. The hospital provides a wide range of acute specialist services, including stroke, obstetric, cardiac and trauma centres. The clinical service provides anaesthesia for 14,000 operations in the main operating theatres, with one third being emergency cases, with an additional 2000 anaesthetics are administered in other areas. The 26-bed adult intensive care unit provides medical and surgical critical care for approximately 1800 patients per year. The department is committed to achieving excellence in education and research and maintains active educational and research collaborations with numerous international and mainland institutions.

As a Staff Specialist in Anaesthetics, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality healthcare and driving the development of innovative clinical models of care. This position involves managing anaesthetic services across surgical specialties, supervising medical staff, and participating in quality improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:

• Clinical Leadership: Provide high-quality care in adult and obstetric anaesthesia across surgical specialties.

• Supervision: Oversee the clinical activities of registrars, senior medical officers, and junior doctors.

• Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with the Emergency, Obstetrics, and High Dependency Unit teams to ensure integrated patient care.

• Education and Development: Mentor and teach medical trainees, fostering professional growth and learning.

• Quality and Safety: Participate in audits, incident reviews, and evidence-based policy development to uphold the highest standards of patient care.

• Service Planning: Contribute to operational and strategic planning for anaesthetic services.
