ANZCA, in conjunction with the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) and the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP), established a Tripartite Committee of Rural Generalist Anaesthesia (TCRGA). This committee will play a crucial role in guiding the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of the Advanced Certificate of Rural Generalist Anaesthesia (AC-RGA), in collaboration with the Curriculum Development Group.

The AC-RGA, launching in 2023 and formerly known as the Diploma of Rural Generalist Anaesthesia, will establish national standards for the education, training, and assessment of rural general practitioners and generalists providing anaesthesia services to rural and remote communities across Australia. Our aim is to uphold the highest principles and standards in rural generalist anaesthesia practice and ethics.

ANZCA is committed to diversity and equal opportunity across its committees. We invite applications from ANZCA fellows interested in joining the TCRGA and contributing to the success of the AC-RGA. Please send your CV and a brief statement of your interest to join the TCRGA by 31 October 2024. For any queries, feel free to contact us.
