Protect your privacy and data. Sign up for MFA

16 August 2024

Nearly one third of our trainees and fellows have already installed multi-factor authentication (MFA) to help protect their privacy and keep their data safe.

Congratulations to our 2500 early adopters who have successfully enabled MFA on their devices. Thank you for leading the way, you are protecting your data from cyber threats.

In June, we introduced MFA to access our continuing professional development (CPD) services (from 27 August you will need to have MFA to access your CPD portfolio or app).

This feature will be rolled out across other ANZCA services over the coming months.

Why is ANZCA introducing MFA?

MFA is an additional level of security mandated for organisations like ours by state and national governments to protect personal and sensitive data from cyber threats. Not having MFA makes it easier for cyber criminals to steal personal, confidential, and sensitive data from our systems.

If you want to learn more, please visit our protecting your data page.

You can also find information on the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s website on Multi-factor authentication | Cyber.gov.au or New Zealand National Cyber security Centre top tips for online security - Own Your Online.

Do I have to sign up for MFA?

Yes. Ensuring the security of ANZCA systems and data is not optional.  MFA is required for our CPD services and will progressively be enabled for other ANZCA systems throughout the remainder of 2024.

Why has ANZCA chosen the Authenticator App for MFA?

Authenticator App was selected as the most suitable MFA option for the college after careful consideration of risks, security best practice, and commercial implications for ANZCA.

How do I sign-up to MFA and how long will this take?

When you log into your CPD portfolio or app, you will see a pop-up message asking if you would like to opt in to MFA. Just follow the instructions and you will be signed up to MFA in no time.
