This workshop will be faciliated by Dr Nav Sidhu, NZ based anaesthetist and specialist in gastric ultrasound.
Nav qualified from the School of Medicine, University of Auckland at the end of 2003. He completed his intern year at Whanganui Base Hospital (NZ) and moved to Australia for PGY2. There, he worked in a rural setting, gaining experience in anaesthesia and paediatrics at Mildura Base Hospital and was employed as a clinical lecturer at Monash Rural Health Mildura. He returned to NZ to commence specialist training in anaesthesia at New Plymouth and Palmerston North, eventually returning to Auckland for advanced training. He obtained the Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) in 2011.
He currently works at North Shore Hospital, Auckland as a Consultant Anaesthetist, where he has held a number of departmental portfolios including Supervisor of Training, Fellowship Supervisor, and Executive Leadership member. He has held various roles with ANZCA , most recently as Chair of the ANZCA Educator Sub-Committee.
Nav has been a Senior Clinical Lecturer with the Department of Anaesthesiology at the University of Auckland since 2012, giving tutorials to students on campus and in the hospital setting. He was awarded the 2019 Distinguished Clinical Teacher Award. In 2023, he was appointed as Director of Medical Admissions. He has been invited to speak and coordinate workshops at conferences on a range of topics, primarily focused on gastric ultrasound, regional anaesthesia, and medical education. He developed and convened the first dedicated gastric ultrasound workshop in Australasia.

The workshop will be held at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Level 5 Simulation Suite.

Cancellation Policy - Refunds will only be provided for cancellations advised in writing prior to the registration close date. Cancellations after the close date still incur venue and catering costs and therefore can’t be refunded.
