The Deputy Service Clinical Director will provide a high-level perioperative service within the Department of Anaesthesia, Pain Management and Perioperative Medicine, which best serves CHS and its patients, guided by current evidence based medical care and patient outcomes in the field.  They will provide leadership in areas of clinical activity, service development and delivery, administration, teaching, and quality assurance and must have the ability to develop close relationships with all relevant stakeholders throughout the patient’s perioperative journey.

The Pain Fellow will provide compassionate evidence-based care of patients referred to FPMx, while using and learning the principles and practice of acute, chronic and cancer pain management. The Pain Fellow is expected to participate in patient care, educational, clinical research and quality assurance activities of FPMx. The trainee is expected to develop advanced skills to manage a wide variety of acute medical and surgical pain, persistent (chronic) pain, cancer related pain and pain with comorbid mental health, substance use and psychosocial problems. He/she will learn about the timing, indications, preparations, complications and technical skills (if desired) for pain related interventions. They will learn basic research skills and quality management in healthcare. The Pain Fellow will work with experienced Interventional Pain Specialists, be mentored in interdisciplinary care with education, medication, exercise and a wide range of procedures.

Candidates are encouraged to apply for the position of Anaesthetic Registrar at GV Health in Shepparton. These positions are not affiliated with a rotational scheme, but you will be eligible and encouraged to registrar with ANZCA as an independent trainee for 12 months.
The positions are also suitable for registrars seeking to gain anaesthetic training time as part of the CICM or ACEM fellowships.
 The Anaesthetic Department is accredited for 52 weeks of training by ANZCA, across introductory, basic and advanced. We are part of both the Eastern Victoria and Regional Victoria rotational training schemes.
