New this month: Safety alert – Unfamiliar drug presentations and concentrations; webAIRS 2025
In December 2024, ANZCA published a new safety alert – Unfamiliar drug presentations and concentrations. Global drug supply challenges have resulted in hospitals being forced to find other suppliers for essential anaesthesia and pain medicine drugs. The presentation and labelling of these alternatively sourced ampoules and vials may be unfamiliar to anaesthetists.

We are also looking into trending topics, including insufflation device safety, neuraxial drug administration safety, and communication challenges in the perioperative setting.
