Perioperative mortality in New Zealand (2023)

webAIRS reaches 12,000 reported incidents

More than 12,000 incidents have now been reported to webAIRS since its inception in 2009. The milestone reflects the collective efforts of anaesthetists dedicated to improving patient outcomes by contributing de-identified near-miss and adverse event data from Australia and New Zealand.

Anaesthetists registered with ANZCA, ASA or NZSA can easily and anonymously report incidents to webAIRS. The reports provide invaluable data for identifying patterns and developing preventative strategies to improve quality of patient care.
