Dr Sophia Bermingham

Dr Sophia Bermingham (she/her) is a consultant anaesthetist who works at Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN) and in the private sector with Pulse Anaesthetics.

After graduating from Melbourne University and completing her anaesthesia training at Alfred Health in Melbourne, she returned to Adelaide to pursue fellowship positions in cardiothoracic and obstetric anaesthesia at SALHN.

Sophia is passionate about physician wellbeing and is the current Vice-Chair of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists (SA), a wellbeing advocate for Australian Society of Anaesthetists and an executive member of the ANZCA Wellbeing SIG.

Sophia also has special interests in healthcare innovation, gender equity, diversity and inclusion, and leadership, and is a graduate of the AICD Company Directors Course and the Oxford University Executive Leadership Program.
