Dr Nola Ng

Dr Nola Ng is a Specialist Anaesthetist who specialises in ORL and Vascular Anaesthesia and has worked in these specialities at Te Toka Tumai since returning from fellowship ten years ago. Her work includes anaesthetising for shared airway procedures using advanced techniques such as high frequency jet ventilation and THRIVE, complex head and neck resections and reconstructions, skull base tumours and vestibular schwannomas.  

She has a strong interest in workforce optimisation by improving the wellbeing of the staff that work in healthcare and the structures that support them. Because of this she has obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Education and is currently working towards a Graduate Diploma in Science with psychology as her subject. 

Currently, her roles include being a Supervisor of Training for the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, a Vital Talk Facilitator and is a Te Toka Tumai Hot Debrief Facilitator. She has facilitated on CICO courses and also Airway scanning at POCUS courses. 

Her most important achievement to date are her three young children who regularly test her coping strategies
