Professor Huyen Tran is Head of Thrombosis and Haemostasis Services, and Director of the Haemophilia Treatment Centre at Alfred Health. He is a clinical Professor at the Australian Centre for Blood Diseases (ACBD), Central Clinical School, Monash University. He is Chair of the Clinical Trials group of The Thrombosis and Haemostasis Society of Australia and New Zealand (THANZ), Chair of the Gene and Emerging Therapies Subcommittee (GETS) and former Chair of the Australian Haemophilia Centre Directors’ Organisation (AHCDO). 

He is a clinical research haematologist with a strong national & international reputation in the field of thrombosis and haemostasis. He's been the lead author for THANZ's warfarin reversal, Practical management of Direct Oral Anticoagulant;  and management of VTE guidelines. He's been a principal investigator in over 80 clinical trials in these areas, has over 120 peer-reviewed publications and >5300 citations.  He supervises PhD candidates and advanced haematology trainees and has lectured widely internationally. He works with local, national and international advisory boards, and disease-specific advocacy groups to advocate for novel therapies to improve patient outcomes. He contributes to the World Health Organisation (WHO) and World Federation of Haemophilia (WFH) to improve care in low- and middle-income countries.
