Here are some tips for connecting and collaborating with the college community; building your professional networks; learning leadership skills; and developing your career as a specialist.
There are dedicated new fellow representatives on:
The New Zealand National Committee; and
Each of the ANZCA and FPM regional committees.
We strongly encourage you to attend an ANZCA Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM). This five-day conference, held in early May, offers new fellows an unparalleled opportunity to connect, collaborate, and contribute to your community.
Every year, delegates enjoy a world-class program of lectures, workshops, and small group discussions led by local and international experts in every imaginable area of anaesthesia, pain and perioperative medicine.
As a new fellow you are entitled to reduced registration at the ASM for the year that you present at the College Ceremony. Please note that attendance at workshops, masterclasses, small group discussions, breakfast and lunchtime sessions will be an additional expense on top of your discounted registration fee.
There will be something to interest every fellow at our Faculty of Pain Medicine's main annual event, which takes place every September or October. The program features local and international experts in all areas of pain medicine, making it another fantastic opportunity for you to connect, collaborate, and contribute to your new community.
Would you like to strengthen your leadership skills? Are you interested in meeting like-minded peers to work with on shaping the future of your specialty?
All new fellows with an interest in leadership are invited to apply to represent their region or nation at our prestigious Emerging Leaders Conference.
Learn to teach through the ANZCA Educators Program - our modular practical teaching course. It's available to all fellows, trainees and specialist international medical graduates, with course modules being delivered throughout the year in major centres around Australia and New Zealand.
Now's the perfect time to start exploring some sub-specialties. Through our involvement in Anaesthesia Continuing Education (ACE), ANZCA and FPM fellows have access to 17 special interest groups (SIGs) that allow anaesthetists to study, report and develop educational events in specific areas of anaesthesia in which they have an interest or skills.
