Anaesthesia training and pathways

We offer a range of programs and pathways to train and accredit medical professionals in anaesthesia and anaesthesia-related fields.

Male and female anaesthetists conduct a review at the bedside of an unconcious patient in a hospital setting.

Our primary anaesthesia training program is a five-year program leading to fellowship with ANZCA. We also have an advanced certificate for rural generalists to upskill in anaesthesia (RGA) as well as an advanced certificate in diving and hyperbaric medicine (DHM) for those interested in the medical aspects of diving and hyperbaric. Additionally, our specialist international medical graduate (SIMG) assessment pathway assists overseas-trained anaesthetists in obtaining recognition and practice rights in Australia and New Zealand. Each program emphasises rigorous training and assessment to ensure high standards of patient care.
