Key changes to the primary and final exam results release schedule

Effective from the 2025.1 exams, results for both exams will be released one week after the viva, on the following Friday.
The release date will also be published on the website.
Exam | Current release date | New release date |
Primary Exam | 14-16 May 2025 | Friday 23 May, 2025 |
Final Exam | 29-31 May 2025 | Friday 6 June, 2025 |
This change has been made in response to the increasing number of candidates and operational demands over time, as well as our commitment to ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and thoroughness in the review process. This extended timeline will also allow for a more comprehensive validation process to align with greater feedback mechanisms ensuring the integrity and fairness of the examination outcomes.

FAQs
Q: If we have previously received results on the same day, why is additional time now required?
A: The extended timeframe will accommodate the implementation of new processes, which include additional manual checks and balances to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the results. This extra time will also allow staff to return to the office after the exams, complete the ratification of results, generate reports for cross-referencing, and address any potential data inconsistencies before releasing the final results.
Who was involved in making the decision?
The decision was made following a collaborative investigation led by the Education and Research Department, in consultation with the Information Technology Department. Key committees, including the Final and Primary Examination Committee, the Executive Education Management Committee, and the ANZCA Trainee Committee, also provided valuable input throughout the process.
Why were we given such short notice?
Since the 2024.2 examinations, the College has been carefully evaluating the most effective approach, considering all relevant factors and potential impacts. After thorough deliberation, it was decided to implement this change for the upcoming examination cycle. Our priority was to ensure that this information would not interfere with preparations for the written examinations.
But we have always received on the same day, why the change?
ANZCA is one of the few institutions that has consistently released results on the same day. However, due to the increasing volume of candidates and the high-stakes nature of the examinations, it has been deemed more beneficial for all parties to prioritize the accuracy and integrity of the results. This change ensures that the results are thoroughly reviewed and verified before being released.
Will this delay the timing of the results report and feedback being released?
No, the results report and feedback will still be released at the same time as normal.
