We encourage ANZCA and FPM trainees, examiners, specialist international medical graduates and those involved in the accreditation of training sites to read and note the key changes prior to the updated Reconsideration, Review and Appeal Policy’s implementation.
- Decisions eligible for reconsideration, review and appeal.
- Outcomes available under this policy.
- Time periods for lodging applications for reconsideration, review and appeal.
- How to lodge an application for reconsideration, review and appeal.
- Applicant rights and responsibilities.
- Changes to fees.
Any application made for reconsideration, review or appeal, prior to 2 December 2024 will be managed under the former Regulation 30 and Regulation 31.
Special Consideration Policy
ANZCA’s updated Special Consideration Policy will be published alongside the RRA policy on 2 December 2024.
The college-wide policy should be reviewed by ANZCA, DHM, RGA, POM and FPM trainees and specialist international medical graduates prior to completing any mandatory exams or assessments. The policy should also be reviewed by those involved in examinations, mandatory assessments or workshops.
This regulation outlines ANZCA’s reconsideration and review process for decisions affecting members, trainees, and specialist international medical graduates. It provides guidelines for requesting reconsideration, review, and appeal, and details the grounds and steps involved in each stage, ensuring that applicants have opportunities to present new information and that decisions adhere to principles of natural justice.
