Lifelong learning project update: June 2023
09 June 2023
Our lifelong learning project is about providing all fellows, trainees, and SIMGs with a world-class educational experience that gives you greater ownership of your own educational journey.
After a busy start to the year launching the enhanced CPD portfolio; our new online learning portal, Learn@ANZCA; and the trainee ePortfolio, we're making great progress on the next round of learning system developments.
SIMG and DHM ePortfolios
Delivery of the Specialist International Medical Graduates (SIMG) pathway and Diploma of Advanced Diving and Hyperbaric Medicine (DHM) program will transition from paper-based to digital processes with the use of an ePortfolio. More information about launch dates, training and system demonstrations will be provided in the coming months.
Online delivery of the FPM exam
The Faculty of Pain Medicine (FPM) short-answer question exam has been configured in a new online exam management system, Risr Assess, with the goal of online delivery in September 2023. A demo exam was provided to candidates to familiarise them with the exam delivery interface and end-to-end testing is underway. This will support equitable and a high-quality user experience as another paper-based process becomes digitised.
DipPOM configuration in Learn@ANZCA
The innovative Diploma of Perioperative Medicine (DipPOM) contains online learning, clinical immersion and workshops. This will be delivered and tracked through Learn@ANZCA. Configuration of the six DipPOM units of study is commencing with a pilot launch scheduled for September this year.
User experience surveys
The ePortfolio, Learn@ANZCA and CPD Portfolio enhancements launched at the beginning of the year. We are committed to continually improving the user experience of these systems and ensuring they meet your needs. To achieve this, we would like to hear from you. In July, you will see links to short user experience surveys from within each of these systems and we invite you to share your feedback. Let’s work together to create high quality learning systems that are intuitive and allow users to effectively complete their goals.
