The FPM Board oversees the faculty's strategic direction, governance and activities in accordance with the FPM by-laws and the ANZCA strategic plan. Accountable to the ANZCA Council under the ANZCA constitution, the board comprises 12 fellows of FPM, who are either elected by the fellowship or nominated in accordance with By-law 1. The board is responsible for electing the dean and vice-dean from among its members.
In line with the faculty’s commitment to diversity, the FPM Diversity Matrix ensures that the FPM board aspires to meaningful diversity. The FPM Board Member Attributes document outlines attributes and expectations for board members, ensuring that the Faculty of Pain Medicine's board is composed of members who are not only skilled and experienced but also aligned with the principles of good governance and capable of advancing the faculty’s mission and objectives.
Supported by FPM committees, the board confirms the appointment of office bearers, committee chairs, and membership nominations annually following the FPM annual general meeting.
Fellows interested in contributing to the governance of the faculty are encouraged to consider nominating for the FPM Board or joining one of its committees. These roles offer an opportunity to share your expertise, make a meaningful impact, and collaborate with like-minded professionals. Please review the FPM Board Member Attributes document and submit your expression of interest, along with a copy of your CV to the faculty.
